Our vision is a picture of what we 'see' ourselves becoming as we grow together, becoming more like Jesus.
City on a Hill
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:14-16
We can see in God’s word we, the church can be a people so filled with the Light of Christ that He is pleased to lift us up, like a city on a hill that cannot be hidden, shedding light in such a way that people see our good deeds and praise our father in heaven. We see ourselves, under Christ becoming such a people.
A Praying church
"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
- John 14:13-14
We see also in God’s word that He gives us every encouragement to come to Him in believing prayer with the full assurance that when we rightly pray in His name for His glory He will grant our every request. The way to get to a place where we more "rightly pray" is to pray more rightly - that is with humility and faith. Our passion is to see Jesus glorified and made famous in every sphere of our lives and so we want to discover and prove in ever increasing measure the truth of Jesus words on prayer. We see ourselves growing to become such a church.
A Church that demonstrates the manifest power and presence of the ascended Lord Jesus
"But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, 'God is really among you!' "
- 1 Corinthians 14:24-25
We see the church can be a people among and through whom God so undeniably manifests His power and presence to unbelievers that they fall down and worship God exclaiming, “God is really among you!” We see what such a church looks like in the scriptures and passionately want to be such a people.
